A CASE OF SUCCESSFUL SURGICAL TREATMENT OF A PATIENT WITH PORTAL HYPERTENSION AND ASCITES INDUCED BY A FISTULA BETWEEN THE SUPERIOR MESENTERIC ARTERY AND THE VEIN

Presented herein is a clinical case report concerning surgical management of a rare-localization arteriovenous fistula, i.e., between the superior mesenteric artery and vein (the system of the portal vein) complicated by portal hypertension and ascites in a 67-year-old male patient. The check examination performed one month after the operation revealed no signs of either portal hypertension or ascites.
