The paper summarizes an experience with surgical treatment of ascending aortic aneurysms, gained at the Russian Scientific Center of Surgery, RAMS. Ninety-two patients operated on for the complicated and uncomplicated forms of ascending aortic aneurysms were entered into the study. A comparative analysis was made of the long-term results of different types of surgical interventions. The authors demonstrate the advantages of operations using valve-containing conduits and of operations which consisted in graded intima-sparing resection of aortic aneurysm and eczoprosthetics. The survival of patients over the period as long as 12 years after operation accounted for 86%.

KEY WORDS: ascending aortic aneurysms, surgical treatment, long-term results.
