Therapeutic efficiency of dipyridamole in high doses was assessed in 30 patients with lower limb arteriosclerosis obliterans and 2nd grade chronic arteriosclerosis. The drug was given at doses of 450 mg/day for 30 days. The majority of patients demonstrated positive reaction on treatment, having significantly increased the distance of painless walking. High doses of dipyridamole appeared to have positive effect on regional blood flow parameters and blood rheology. Maximal therapeutic effect was observed 1-3 months after treatment onset with the following decrease of achieved success. Consequently, it was suggested to maintain treatment interval for 1 month with the following interruption. The tolerance to dipyridamole high doses was shown to be satisfactory during its prolonged administration.

KEY WORDS: Dipyridamole, lower limb arteriosclerosis obliterans.
