SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT OF ILIAC ARTERY ANEURYSM BY ENDOVASCULAR COATED STENT JOSTENT

L.S. Kokov, S.V. Kalashnikov, K.V. Khohryakov, E.K. Gusejnov, A.A. Kalinin

The reported occurrence of major and peripheral arterial aneurysms is 3.4-6.7% among vascular diseases. World publications concerning radiosurgical treatment of this cohort of patients with the use of coated stents contain hundreds of cases, while in Russian literature we failed to find any. The majority of surgeons prefer routine management of this disease yet. The authors present a case report of endoprosthetic treatment of common iliac arterial aneurysm (lumen diameter 25-30 mm, external diameter 80-120 mm) with the use of JoStent endoprosthesis coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (length – 38 mm, expanded to 12 mm). This case of successful endoprosthesis implantation for circulatory inactivation of iliac arterial aneurysm in severely ill patient clearly illustrates advantages of the method.

KEY WORDS: aneurysm, stent, vascular endoprosthesis.
